Year 11
Throughout the first four years of secondary schooling Advisory teachers have taught students the skills to create engaging and relevant learning opportunities both in class and in the wider world based on their personal interests. Using these skills students now attempt to refine the approach by deeply interrogating their interest. The result is new found learning, a new product, a new service, a new way of impacting on the world, etc.
Year 12
Students are now immersed in an exploration of a chosen interest area using all the skills they have acquired over the past five years. With one eye on this work they begin to look forward in time in order to determine a plan, a pathway to securing a future of their choice. Students begin to consider the first several years of their life post school and create an audit of the opportunities that exist and the steps required to achieve their desired goals.
