Secondary Assistance Scheme
Secondary Assistance Scheme
The secondary assistance scheme (SAS) is to assist low-income families with secondary schooling costs for students in Years 7 to 12. It is made up of 2 allowances:
the Education Program Allowance (EPA) which is paid directly to the college,
the Clothing Allowance (CLA) which is ideally paid to the applicant (bank account required) or to the college.
Please note that students who receive an ABSTUDY payment must apply for the ABSTUDY Supplement Allowance (ASA) rather than the Secondary Assistance Scheme (SAS).
