Girls football team in training now

The Yule Brook College girl's football team has commenced training in preparation for school football competitions in Terms 2 and 3. Training sessions are held on Tuesday and Friday mornings and Wednesday after school. The highest training attendance is 19 girls and all girls are welcome to participate or try out.

Thursday afternoon games are scheduled for Week 7 against Gilmore College (away) and Week 8 against Clontarf Aboriginal College (away).

Former Clontarf Foundation worker Simon Nimmo is coaching the team and Buffie Corunna, Lucinda vanWyk and Paul Simonsen are managing operations.

A special thanks to Paul who kindly donated a fridge and cooking equipment for breakfast, which he also volunteers to cook.

Hilary Saunders and YBC senior staff have kindly allocated the phys ed office as an academy room.

Whilst the college is hopeful to secure a partnership to start an academy in the future, currently all food and materials have been donated by the school or individuals.

Most importantly, the girls are enjoying the atmosphere at training and have been outstanding in applying themselves to training.

If anyone would like to assist in any way now and in the future please contact Simon or Buffie.
