Clontarf Academy News - November 2018

The Prime Minister Scott Morrison visited Perth recently and as a part of his itinerary requested a session with Clontarf Academy students. The PM, who is a long-time supporter of the Foundation, was joined by the Member for Swan the Hon Steve Irons for a morning training session and barbecue breakfast. Eight boys from Yule Brook answered the call along with boys from across the metropolitan area and Northam.

Despite being the second week of the school holidays close to 50 young men gathered at the beautiful grounds of Clontarf Aboriginal College for the chance to mingle with the prime minister. They put on an enthusiastic display of Australian rules football skills in front of an admiring PM. Several of our students featured in great photos with the PM Including Josiah and Stephen who were captured sharing breakfast and conversation. During breakfast the prime minister praised these young men for their efforts and reinforced the importance of finishing school. Mr Morrison joined in some of the training activities and even attempted three set shots at goal. His footballing skills were not at a standard to excite draft scouts however!
