Clontarf Mission Statement

The Clontarf Foundation exists to improve the education, discipline, self-esteem, life skills and employment prospects of young Aboriginal men and by doing so equip them to participate more meaningfully in society. The five pillars that underpin the Clontarf mission statement are Education, Employment, Leadership, Well-being and Sport. Every activity or event organised by staff at The Yule Brook Clontarf Academy is done so with this in mind. It’s been an exciting and whirlwind start to 2018. As it currently stands we have 36 boys in our programme. This number has the potential to increase as we progress through the school year.

 

Some of our major events and activities undertaken since the start of the term include;

  • Year 7 induction camp
  • Peth Wildcats game with Programmed Marine at Perth Arena
  • Corporate cricket day with Programmed Marine

Minister Scullion’s visit to Yule Brook. Guests included Senator the Honorable Nigel Scullion (Federal Minister for Indigenous Affairs), Jacob Pilot (Advisor, Indigenous Affairs), Gerard Neesham (CEO Clontarf foundation), Dyann Pigram (Partnerships Manager, Clontarf Foundation), Ewan Baker (musician) and John Hudson (musician).

Our regular weekly activities which include after school basketball (Monday), morning training (Tuesday and Thursday), toasted sandwich Thursday and good bunch lunch (Friday).

Some of our upcoming activities and events for the remainder of this term include;

Week 6: basketball with Sevenoaks (Year 9 and 10)

Week 7: super training with Sevenoaks (Year 7-10)

Week 8: Year 8 engagement camp

Week 8: junior football carnival at Cecil Andrews (Year 7-9)

Week 10: Year 9 and 10 leadership camp

Week 10: Clontarf Cup senior football carnival at Trinity playing fields (Year 10-12)

Week 11: Reward day at Cottesloe BeachFrom Little Things Big Things Grow
