A fresh start at Clontarf

‘The Clontarf Foundation exists to improve the education, discipline, self-esteem, life skills and employment prospects of young Aboriginal men and by doing so, equip them to participate more meaningfully in society. The six pillars that underpin the Clontarf mission statement are education, employment, leadership, well-being, partners/ community and sport.

Every activity or event organised by staff at the Yule Brook Clontarf academy is done so with this in mind.

A new year brings with it a fresh start and in the case of the Yule Brook Clontarf academy, new staff. Michael Goss and Craig Walker have come on board and bring to the position a wealth of experience. Previous to this appointment Michael has worked at the Roebourne, Karratha and Swan View academies and Craig was a pivotal member at the Kalgoorlie academy, where he worked for six years.

It’s been an exciting and energetic beginning and some of our ‘major’ events and activities undertaken since the start of the term include;

Year 7 induction camp and Community Information Session, Wesfarmers corporate cricket day featuring former Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson, not to mention our regular weekly activities which include after school basketball, Tuesday and Thursday morning training and good bunch lunch on Friday.

Some of our upcoming activities and events for the remainder of this term include;

  • Week 5: Football game v Clontarf academy @ Yule Brook College (Year 7-9)
